The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters enter a new era as they make their season debut at the new Canon Medical Arena against Nottingham Wildcats. Head Coach Vanessa Ellis has assembled a roster to match the new surroundings with some familiar faces and some exciting new talent to grace the home of hoops in South Yorkshire. And there might just be a familiar face or two amongst the Hatters opponents too!

Our Opponents
It will take some getting used to but former Hatters Abbey Whitehouse and Alice Fallon will be suiting up in the Nottingham uniform for the coming season. Abbey averaged more than 20 minutes per game last season and will also represent the University of Nottingham with Alice in BUCS competition. We wish both well for the forthcoming campaign. The Wildcats will be looking to improve upon their 2022-23 standing of eleventh in the table when they finished with a 3-19 record. Also, new to Nottingham are Brooke Bjelko (ex Azkoitia), Jess Wayne (formerly of Durham Palatinates) and Maisie Evison. While Mari Stewart completes another season in the East Midlands.

Joining familiar faces Georgia Gayle, Naomi Campbell and Nicolette Fairley this season, we welcome back Shauna Harrison fresh from the California University of Pennsylvania. We are thrilled to welcome Brit standout Melita Emanuel-Carr north to Sheffield for this 2023-24 campaign and we have some exciting players joining us from further afield. In come Carla Drennan (Cal State Northridge Matadors), Madison Washington (Oregon State), Emma Eichmeyer (GiroLive Panthers Osnabruck) and Point Guard Desiree Ramos out of Utah State. We’ve already taken big wins against Newcastle and Manchester in pre-season and we are looking to add some more in our new venue.
