B.Braun Sheffield Hatters were formed in the early 1960’s and became the first Women’s Basketball team in England. Since then the club has developed into the most successful women’s sports club in the country due to our domination of English Women’s Basketball since the early 1990’s. Hatters were the first women’s basketball club in the country to gain Sport England’s Clubmark Accreditation.
The first lady of English basketball, head coach Betty Codona OBE retired from senior basketball in 2009 following a career which saw her coach over 500 National League games – a record for an English coach – and won 40 National titles. Betty continues to be the driving force behind the club and is admired by all members of the club.
B.Braun Sheffield Hatters is more than a club, it is a family. We provide sporting opportunities for players of all ages irrespective of ability or financial means and nurture their development. Over the years hundreds have trained and played with the club. Importantly, we offer a warm welcome to all potential players, supporters and enthusiasts.
