Sheffield Hatters v Bromsgrove Bears -19/11/22.
First meeting of the season for these 2 teams. Hatters started with their usual strong defence but neither team seemed to get into a good offensive mode missing shots and committing minor infringements thus making the game very fragmented, but Hatters managed to squeeze a 20-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter went pretty much the same way but the Bears offence performed the better with the score being pulled back to 32-31 to the Hatters at half time. Hatters were denied any scoring chances for the first 6 minutes!
The first few minutes of the third quarter saw Bears taking a small lead which was the first time this season Hatters had found themselves behind. This seemed to prompt the Hatters into action and having found their offensive mentality, ended the third quarter 59-38 up. The strong third quarter made things a lot easier in the final quarter and Hatters relaxed and played better all round, the final score being 70-47 to Hatters. A scruffy win but a win nonetheless keeps Hatters with a 6-0 lead at the top of the league🏀.
