Another clean sweep for the second weekend running ..

The Sheffield Hatters celebrated a second consecutive winning weekend with all teams, from the Senior Women’s team to the U14 squad, securing impressive victories in their respective games. The Hatters program continues to shine as they maintain their winning start across all age groups.

Senior Women’s Team Victory IN the tROPHY

The Senior Women’s team took to the road in the first round of the 2024-25 Betty Codona Trophy, facing off against Nottingham Wildcats. It was a closely contested first quarter, with the Hatters edging ahead by just 3 points (17-20). However, the team found their rhythm and significantly upped the pressure in the second and third quarters, establishing a commanding lead.

By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Hatters outscored the Wildcats 23-8, securing an emphatic victory with a final score of 87-56. Georgia Gayle delivered a stellar performance, earning MVP honours with 25 points, 3 steals, and 7 assists, playing a crucial role in the team’s road win.

The game showed the Hatters’ ability to adapt and respond, turning a close contest into a dominant win.

U16C Triumph

On Saturday, 5th October, the U16C team travelled to Derby to take on Derby Trailblazers and delivered a commanding performance. The Hatters controlled the game from start to finish, securing a dominant 86-34 victory. The team showed excellent defensive work and great teamwork on offense, with every player contributing to the victory.

U14 Victory Over Newcastle Eagles

On Sunday, 6th October, the U14 Hatters played at home against the Newcastle Eagles. The young Hatters put in an excellent team effort to beat the Eagles 68-36.

U18 Dominate Northampton

Also on Sunday, 6th October, the U18 Hatters welcomed Northampton at home. The team put on a scoring clinic, overwhelming their opponents with a powerful offensive display, finishing with a remarkable 103-50 victory. The U18s looked unstoppable, using their high-intensity play to dominate both ends of the court.
