Crowds welcome Super Sunday for the Trophy contest!
The main event of the weekend was the WBBL team welcoming the London Lions to a packed Canon Medical Arena on Sunday 21st January 2024 to contest the semi-final of the Betty Codona Trophy. Special mention to the fans. What an atmosphere!
The team put up a put up a spirited fight matching the London Lions throughout the game despite the depleted roster with some senior players nursing injuries. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be this year and the they finished the game with 60 – 72 loss. We go again in the league.
On Saturday the Division 2 team played Worcester at home and managed a comfortable victory in the end with a 85 – 59 win.
On Sunday the action continued with our youngest players competing in a busy Central Venue League – supported by the U16C team who were officiating and selling baked goods. Following them we also had the U13 team who played Derbyshire Arrows in the Yorkshire CVL league.
To complete the day, the U16P team dominated a good Bristol Flyers team to win by 73 – 39 points in the National Basketball League.
