Junior teams continue their impressive unbeaten run to the season
It was an exciting weekend for our Sheffield Hatters junior teams, showcasing their skills, resilience, and determination across multiple age groups. Here’s a recap of the weekend’s action:
U16 Conference Team (U16C) The U16C team played an intense game on Saturday, 19th October 2024, in Liverpool. The Hatters started strong, taking a commanding lead in the first quarter, 9-19.
However, Liverpool fought back, narrowing the score to 29-32 by halftime and keeping the game close at 32-39 by the end of the third quarter. With just 3:30 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Liverpool managed to take the lead at 46-43, but the Hatters showed great tenacity, tying the game at 48-48 to force overtime. The Hatters dug deep and emerged victorious in overtime by 56 – 58, capping off a thrilling win on the road!
U16 Premier Team (U16P) Our U16P team faced Nottingham Wildcats in the National Cup on Sunday, 20th October 2024, at home. It was a dominant display by the Hatters, who outplayed the Wildcats from start to finish, securing an impressive 76-39 victory. With this win, the U16P team advances to the quarter-finals, continuing their cup run. Well done, girls!
U14 Team The U14 Hatters also had a fantastic game on Sunday, 20th October 2024, at home against Manchester II. The team put on an exceptional performance, scoring an incredible 114-46 win. It was a remarkable showing against a historically strong Manchester side, highlighting the team’s skill and teamwork.
